DP2: Research – Magazine Layouts

I have to admit I’ve been struggling when it comes to finding inspiration for the layout of my magazine. I find most magazine layouts somewhat boring or predictable…I’d like to create something visually stimulating and therefore finding it tough to come across anything similar to what I’d like to create.

A few images I’ve found have been stuck into my sketchbook. Analysing these I can see they consist of good typography, imagery as well as consideration to layout. Every aspect works together, which means I need to consider the relationship between form and content when it comes to producing my own design.

Following that I have blog posts coming on different books I have read to teach me more about the technical side of magazine layouts.

I have also been on a trip to The Tate Modern to look at their magazine selection in their book shop which I will have a blog post about.
